Hello,
I recently acquired a computer as part of a severance
package from a previous job. The computer was part of a
network that connected to the internet via a high-speed
connection. I took the computer home, purchased an
internal modem, and installed it per instructions. The
modem came with fax software, which I also installed.
After installing my ISP dial-up software, I attempted to
connect to the internet. My ISP software returned
a "Cannot Start Dialing" error message. The modem will not
dial with any of the three internet service provider's
software I have installed. I am able to get the modem to
dial thru Hyper Terminal and connect to my IS. Also the
modem will dial and send faxes using the fax software. I
attempted to set up a new connection for the modem, but
the option "Connect With a Modem" is greyed out and not
available. I contacted the modem manufacturer, and they
said the problem was a corrupted Windows dial-up
networking file. Can anyone offer help or suggestions as
to how to repair this problem?
Sincerely,

R

Try using Internet Options, Connections tab and run the internet setup
again.
