Microsoft Mail in Office XP workaround ?

I have upgraded from Office 2000 to Office XP. I can not access our
Microsoft Mail LAN email account. I backed up my contacts prior to
upgrading, but not anything else.
Any chance of working around this lack of support for Microsoft mail in
Office XP?
