Thanks for this, but problem still occurs. Only article
319792 applies to IE 6 for XP home. the other "back
button on POST causing warning: page has expired"
articles relate to other versions of IE or Windows.

crikey, what shall i do now!?

There are issues with the back button when using a HOSTS file. Check it out.
It may be a HOSTS file problem.
Look also for a file named HOSTS (no extension, could be hidden) rename it
OLDHOSTS.

Other then that I do know what else to suggest.
