Microsoft Jet Database Engine

Tom Neel

Help! We have our membership database in an Access table,
and it came up with a message today "The Microsoft Jet
database engine stopped the process because you and
another user are attempting to change the same data at the
same time."
It is not permitting us to open our database and we do not
know what caused this or how to bring our file back. It
has worked well for years.
Thanks.

Hi Tom,

This may have happened if someone didn't close the database in a normal
fashion. Perhaps someone use Ctrl-Alt-Del, or went for the power button.

Open the folder where the mdb is and look for a file with the same name but
an extension of ldb. Delete the ldb file.

Open the database, and use Tools, Database Utilities, Compact and Repair.
