3.6 (the DAO version number)

?Currentdb.Version
4.0 (the JET version number that created the database)
 
If you are using Access 2000, you are using Jet 4.0. There have been a
number of Service Packs, which you can download from Microsoft's website, or
apply using the Office Update feature of Windows Update.

If you want to verify, search/find a file named msjet40.dll.
