Microsoft Internet Explorer Browser message appears?

When I am using certain software, especially Adobe Photo Deluxe 4.0 I receive this message

"The browser application could not be started. Please verify that it is installed correctly"

After this message the browser ignores the warning and completes the task. Can anyone tell me what I should do about this?
