Microsoft Folder on Desktop since Installing Synctoy

Since I downloaded and installed Microsoft Synctoy, a "Microsoft"
Folder Window appears on my desktop with each reboot. I have since
moved the Synctoy folder icon from the Microsoft Folder window and
placed it in my desktop folder called "Utilities", however the
now-empty "Microsoft" folder appears with each reboot. Sure it's
simple enough to remove it by clicking on the "X" in the window's
upper righthand corner but why does the Microsoft Folder window need
to be there at all when I never requested that it be there?
Thanks in advance if anyone can describe how to remove this annoyance?

Hi,

This problem occurs if there is an incorrectly formatted startup entry in
the registry.

Download Startup Tracker application from this page:
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/utils/xp_starttrack.htm

Launch the program, and click the "View log" button. Post the contents of
the log file here.

Note: No need to post the following sections:

Hi,

There are some entries in the listing that are not enclosed within
double-quotes. Start Regedit.exe and navigate to the corresponding registry
keys and fix the Value data for those entries.

Use the following articles as examples:
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/stfolder.htm
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/dellfolder.htm

Backup your registry first.
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/registry.htm
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/helpandsupport/learnmore/systemrestore.mspx

Also note that the following entry looks incorrect. As it does not point to
a valid file, simply delete that entry.

THAT DID IT! I didn't enclose any of the Rundll.exe stuff with double
quotes but everything is fine now -- no Microsoft Folder Window upon
boot up -- and it even seems to boot a bit faster now. Thanks loads
for your assistance, Ramesh.

Excellent! Thanks for the update, Grinch55.
