Microsoft fax console

I am trying to set up the fax configuration in the Microsoft fax console; But
there is no modem listed in the devices drop down box in the fax console. I
am using an Acer Aspire 1360 laptop, running windows xp and have an internal
Agere System AC'97 modem. Can anyone help with this please?

Is this an analog fax modem that is on the Windows XP HCL list?
