What is wrong with Microsoft these days? First IE7 which I
uninstalled within an hour of its installation and now WMP11.
Gawd it is TERRIBLE. It won't BURN CDs no matter what one tries.
The fonts are too narrow and not nearly bold enough and the
listings appearance is CHEAP.

You go to edit the playlists and click 'save playlists' and
nothing happens. You rightclick and then you can 'save' the
list. Don't these people live in the real world and try these
programs before sending them out?

If they had sent out a new skin only and forgot the other
improvements???? it would have been better.

Thank gawd for 'roll backs', back to WMP10 with some remnants of
WMP11 still showing up unfortunately.

There...I feel better.

Over the past week I've updated my primary machine to both IE-7
and the new MPlayer-11. After some tweaks to IE, I've got it setup
to meet my needs. It's still a little awkward for some mouse clicks to
do things like halt a web page from loading. I would have preferred
some additional customization on the toolbars. A little too much blank
space which should be able to be collapsed. Adding new Favorites
is an adventure as the full folder structure appears.

On MPplayer-11 it's OK. Again some customizations are lacking.
My only complaint is I use "Classic Theme". When MP-11 is in the
toolbar mode it's color scheme ( Black/Blue ) really stands out against
the other items. Might need to look into skins or ability to change the
color scheme.

IE-7 is becoming more comfortable with use. I'm having a little bit
of trouble getting used to persistent Favicons appearing as I revisit
certain websites, instead of the default IE shortcut icon. May have to
get new Bifocal glasses to help recognize some of these Favicons.
But I will give Microsoft credit the new icon for many of their sites
with the single "M" is easy to pick out.

The burning feature has nothing to do with WMP, WMP is just a frontend. You
have to enable it in the windows snapin services manager and also enable or
fix the burn engine DCOM functions in the DCOM snap-in
(%windir%\system32\dcomcnfg.exe), then it should work

Horsefeathers. Then how come WMP10 worked like a charm burning
CDs perfectly and still does after a roll back from WMP11 to
WMP10??? The BURN engine is just fine, WMP11 isn't.

As an upgrade, I shouldn't have to tinker with or re-engineer or
re-code the bloody thing in order for it to work properly. Give
me a break. I wasn't born yesterday and have used computers for
nearly thirty years.

Doug,

I agree with you on WMP11 really sucking it up. Check my post "Total Time in
List Pane - Where did it go?" for my complaints.

As for me, I'm switching back to WMP10.

Frustrated,

As for me, I haven't installed either and don't plan to anytime soon.
Why fix something that ain't broke?
