my antivirus finds this all the time but my antispyware
does not. I tried to send a suspected spyware report and
it failed.

There's some controversy about this one. The maker claims they are not
spyware, and that they exhibit none of the behaviors listed by Microsoft as
criteria for listing. Microsoft Antispyware does not detect this as
spyware. Some other popular antispyware apps don't as well.

You'll have to decide whether you wish to keep the app installed--it isn't
hard to remove.

Or the free version of Eudora, or whatever. This is an ad-supported app.
The ads are in the body of the app--they don't come as popups. If you don't
like them, you can uninstall it. Your second reference has a
non-ad-supported alternative--I know which one I'd prefer!
