I have animations in a few PowerPoint shows that I've used in my classroom.
I never see the animations work while I design a project on either the
school's PC or on my MacBook laptops. However, as soon as I show them on a
digital projector, they move. I'd really like to see the movement while I
play/preview the show on my computer(s) during the design process. What do I
do to get them to animate in PowerPoint on my laptops? They also do not
animate when I export a show to iDVD.
 
The animations move only in slideshow mode, not during the design process

Doesn't the 'play' button in the custom animation taskpane work for you? If
not try unticking 'use hardware graphics acceleration' in the slide show ->
set up show dialogue box.

As for exporting to iDVD, you would be better off asking about that in the
Mac forum:
