Microsoft Access Report problem

I have a networked computer (WindowsXP Prof. using Office XP
Professional) that will not change report background colors from grey
to white--or any other color. I have used the properties' back/fill
button, but it makes no changes.

Does anyone know how to restore the back/fill controls?

I have the same problem on an IBM G40 notebook with Win XP pro NL SP1 and
Office XP SP2.
Also, buttons on forms which are disabled non´t look good (the text is
black with black shadow instead of black with grey shadow).
On Windows Calculator (Calc) all buttons are black. I have not found a
solution yet. Did anyone?
