microsoft 2007 exchange unavailable not online or connected

hi. i have just installed microsoft outlook 2007 on my new laptop. it
seemed to install with no problems but when i go to open it it comes up with
an error reading:- "connection to microsoft exchange unavailable, outlook
must be online or connected to complete.
can anyone help me please.

Do you use Exchange server? If not, close outlook. Go to control panel, mail
and edit the profile- delete the exchange account and create the proper type
of account.
