Microphone

This morning I used my webcam and stand alone mic with no problem. 6 hours
later the mic does not work.
I have switched to a headset with mic and the mic segment does not work.
from Sharon F.'s suggestions from previous postings I have checked by doing
a recording and the system does not even recognize a mic has been plugged in.
Now what?
I have rebooted hoping it would reset the defaults, to no avail.
Now what?

Did you check the "recording control" properties in your " volume

If the system is not recognizing a mic, then the mic is bad or the mic jack
on the system is not communicating its presence. Sorry --besides taking
this up with tech support for the system or sound card, I can't think of
anything else for you to try.
