I just wanted to say that I hope you all get your money refunded and that the mess Microland caused gets sorted out. I only bought a DVD burner a couple months back but it caused me so much grief it was untrue with the company messing me around. I'm not surprised they've gone bust to be honest as they seemed such an incompetent bunch! I hope they get stopped from running another company again and causing anymore people grief.

Dear all

Anyone have an update on the creditors meeting which I think was set for today (31 January 2005)?

Just to confirm to you all that the creditors meeting was held on Monday. I was confirmed as Liquidator. Only 1 creditor attended. A document pack has been sent to everyone on the creditors list. This includes a questionnaire so that individual and company creditors can let us know their experiences which I can take into account when I complete my report under the Company Directors (Disqualification) Act 1986. The fact that there are consumer creditors is relevant in that respect.

I'm afraid there is not much more I can say at the moment - my work is in its infancy and I must really restrict sensitive information to the people for whom I work, i.e the creditors. However, anyone that has any information which they think will assist us in carrying out our job are invited to contact us: any information given will be treated in total confidence.

Warranties: At this point, claims under warranties from the company are unsecured claims only. I can tell you from the outset that no funds are available to meet the claims of any class of creditor. Obviously things like monitors etc may well be subject to a manufacturers warranty and I can only suggest you check any documentation you were given.

Finally, our website: Nothing sinister, just our host has decided to implement some new servers and it has caused some disruption over the last couple of days. I am assured by my IT manager that it should be back to normal soon.

Regards

Sorry to revive this thread...
...sorry if it was posted in the wrong place too
finally... sorry if its been asked a million times before...

I have been a partial victim of the Microland Technology ******s too. Sent a graphics card of £88 value back to them in July last year because it was faulty. Crappy communication, many long pointless phonecalls. They agreed to refund the cost minus a re-stocking fee £20, but alas never did.

Just wondering If I could have anything on this, I have an invoice and maybe some communication proof. Ideally looking for the money back on the credit card. Who should I be contacting, or is it too late? (original order date december 2003).

Thankyou :)

Contact the Liquidator if you want, but It'd probably be like urinating in a force 9 gale...

Seriously, there wasn't any cash for anything so unless you could claim on your credit card very little hope....(and CC mimium is £100 I think)

Does anyone have a warranty on paper?

I bought a PC from Microland Technolgy last year to the tune of £1000, the PC has a number of major faults. The PC came with a 1yr on site 2yr back to base warranty. I cannot remeber or find the warranty. Does anyone who bought a PC from them have a warranty? The only evidence I have of this is on the invoice where it shows the waranty. Maybe the warranty was available through their website if u bought online? I am making a claim with Nat West as I bought the PC by credit card.
