Microft Imaging

Using an Epson scanner and creating a .jpg, Imaging will
not read format. Paint will read. Anyway to correct this
so Microsoft Imaging will read. Happens sometimes with
other .JPG's too. Not ALL.

Simple answer is to "aquire" the scan from within Microsoft Imaging.
Then you won't have that "compatability" problem.
