micosoft blurtooth keyboard

i have the bluetooth keyboard and mouse ....the mouse
works fine ....but i cannot connect the wireless
keyboard..it gives me the number to put in but nothing
works here i am running xp pro ....whats the problem here

you need to type that number into the bluetooth keyboard and hit enter (all
on the bluetooth keyboard, not the wired keyboard attached to your machine)
