I cannot get the Michael Savage website to stay on my screen. It comes
up for a few seconds, and then 'APPLET STARTED' shows up at the bottom
left of the screen and the webpage disappears. I refresh it, and the
same thing happens. This is the only site that this occurs. I have
cleaned my system of all spyware, and there are no viruses that I
know of, running CA antivirus, and Norton antivirus. Can anyone help
with this? Do I need to load some new Java software? I thought I had
downloaded everything ok. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,
Jerry M.

Hmm...In the upper left corner of that page is some scrolling text.
Going by the message you quote, I'd guess that this is done by a Java
applet. Here at work I can't run Java in my Firefox browser (*not*
Firefox's fault at all), and the website shows just fine with blank
space in the upper left where the scrolling text appears in IE (which
does run Java here). Why it disappears for you, I have no clue.

But the first thing I'd do is go to
http://java.com/en/download/manual.jsp and get the Java Run-time
Edition (JRE). Installing that should enable your browser to display
the applet and fix your problem.
