Does anyone know of a Firefox 1.5.04 plugin that will save web pages as
..MHT files. There used to be one for the earlier versions of Firefox but
the upgrade to version 1.5 broke it

I'm using the MAF extension (assuming this was the one you meant?) here
on 1.5.0.4 with no problems - have you tried reinstalling the extension?

you have chosen to use IE website archive format called MHT, why
do you wonder they open just in IE. The usual format of this
extension is called MAF. Both are proprietary for their target
browser. To have something compatible you should save to ".html
with graphics", you get more than one file, but are sure you can
use later without problems - in any browser not just IE/FF.

Check your MAF setting for "Archive Open mode". IIRC, "do nothing"
used to be the default, and maybe the old setting held over from your
previous installation. If it's set to one of the other options and
still nothing happens, try opening the archive then selecting

Tools » Mozilla Archive Format » Browse Open Archives

If these settings are not successful, you might consider Opera: it has the
"Save web archive (single file)" feature, which saves in mht format.
