Method of ... object failed in Excel

Hi,

Not sure if you still have the problem but for all others who experience this issue:

I struggled a few days with getting the error message "Method 'minimumscale' of object 'Axis' failed, run-time error '-2147467259' (80004005). Also other methods failed.

Finally I found out what caused the problem: protection of the worksheet...

Unprotecting the sheet of course solved my problem.

Regards,

I had the same problem and it was being caused by an add-in which was written for Excel 2003. I disabled the add-in and the problem went away. In my case it was the documents-to-go add-in from the palm software.

It takes a while for the error to come up on the screen but if I hit the end
button then Excel opens. The total error is - Run-time error '-2147467359
(80004005)'; Method 'Add of object 'CommandBarControls' failed

Hi David, I suffer exactly the same problem you've described in your mail.
Hi David, I suffer exactly the same problem you've described in your mail.
May be it's a virus or a software malfunction that has been accidentally
triggered by any a key combination. Hoe can the Microsoft development be
involved to analyze the problem

Many thanks to Troy Ferrell for the pointer to Documents to Go addin which had attached itself to Excel without my knowledge. Can do without it. Run-time error for VB has gone away!
