meta tags

I thought I read a couple of gurus on this forum say meta tags weren't that
important now? With my all-DWT site, if I just do the meta tags on the home
page (using page properties in fp2003) then surely that would not affect the
DWTemplate for fuure or other pages? As always, thanks heaps.

i've now had a look at my home page in fp2003 and I can't add description or
keywords under page properties, obviously cos I've used a DWT. Any way around
this? Or doen't it matter?

In the DWT make editable regions for the meta tags, but populate the regions
with only a comment
example:

<!--#beginEditable "keywords"-->
<!--Insert keywords meta here-->
<!--#endEditable-->

This will be placed on every page the DWT is attached to, and you will be
able to insert the meta tags from code view (not page properties), if
wanted.
