Is it possible to add a wildcard (*) in a meta tag keyword? Ex: compan* to
cover both company, companies, companys......

Thanks in advance

no, and most search engines will automatically handle this.

I don't know....it might just treat it as text, and index the character *
(asterisk), rather than what you want to do.

"compan*" will also find words like "companion" and many other useless words
commencing compan if they don't apply to your site, affecting your site
listing in search engines. It's probably better that you put the whole word
in.

Anyway, Meta tags "keywords" doesn't matter so much since search engines
index the entire page these days.

No disrespect to you mate but that's nonsense. Search engines do not index
meta keywords anymore - it doesn't matter if you put in * or anything else
it's not going to affect your ranking one way or the other.

It might be better if you confined your answers to questions you know
something about.

Andrew likes to reply to as many posts as possible, even though they have
been replied to by others. He has a tendency, IMHO, to simply parrot other
replies.

Isn't that more or less what he said?

Actually, the middle comment is not mine, at least I don't think it is.

And I definitely cede to Jon's understanding of SEO stuff.

But it has been my general experience that Keywords make no (or only minor)
difference in your index ranking.
