Messenger Alerts (Services)

Is there anyway of stopping outside alerts, but still allowing Messenger
Alert from my other pc (that is networked), so I can message the other pc,
and the other pc can message me, but those damn annoying ones, from external
persons don't come in........

Also, slightly off topic, and I hope someone can answer this, what Microsoft
thing have I agreed too, on my firewall, that is allowing this to by-pass my
firewall? I am on Norton Personal Firewall...

Install a firewall on the connection to the Internet, and tell it to
block the ports used by NetBIOS (135, 137 - 139 and 445). Don't have a
firewall on the inter-machine connection.
