Messenger 4.7.2009 pains

[Frustrated]

Hi,
I have upgraded to WM 4.7.2009 and now cant log in. I
have tried the usuall 8 or 9 things that are suggested
like resetting the time, reset my password
and logged in using it, disabled firewalls and
restarted, cleared internet files an cache cookies, my IE
security settings are fine and then run regsvr32
softpub.dll and run , and also tried to download and
install MSN6, RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %
windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove and services.msc to
remove windows messenger from my pc. All these things I
have done several times. I managed to connect using MSN6
once then never again even after 50-100 attempts. It is
almost like the upgraded (and removed) windows messenger
is blocking the recognition certain internet connections.
I also have Yahoo and ICQ which connect with no problems
at all. Without doing a restore to before I attempted the
so-called upgrade, does anybody have any suggestions????

Me too - exactly the same and what makes it worse is that
if i restore back to before the upgrade i get a message
every 4-5 minutes saying that i need to upgrade. so if i
upgrade i cant use the service and if i stay as i am i
cant use the service..fantastic.

Cmon MS there are loads of people with this problem on
these boards surely you can give some advise...even if
its wait until the next upgrade or something.. Then at
least we know where we stand.
