Windows 2000 Server 2GB RAM. Have a process called
MESSEN~1.EXE running can't stop it or find it. Got to
650,000k mem usage. Rebooted which cleared it, now risen
to 40,000k and climbing. Has anyone else got this in their
task manager?

I don't but try a full virus scan and parasite scan with something like AdAware. Make
sure you are using current definitions on any product you scan with. You can use the
free TCPView, Process Explorer, and Autoruns tools from SysInternals to find out more
about that process including the executable path, if it is autostarted, possibly the
publisher, and what ports it uses if any. It could be legitimate process with a
memory leak or other problem. --- Steve
