Messed up styles

G

GS Fanatic

I have a document with styles pre-setup in it. These styles reflect my
company's documentation standard. However, when I send my docs out for review
and update, other people udpating the doc messes up the styles. i.e. Style1
now numbers a), b) and c) in stead 1.2.1.1 ... 1.2.1.3.

How can I fix the styles in this updated document to reflect those of the
original doc?

Assuming that the other editors haven't modified the styles, you should be
able to restore the formatting by selecting the text and pressing Ctrl+Q (to
clear paragraph formatting not in style) and Ctrl+SpaceBar (to clear font
formatting not in style).

Note that a long-term solution would be to make sure that all editors know
about styles and use them properly (which of course might be something that
you cannot control).
