How do I send the computer next to me a message from the command prompt? I was told there was a way. In Windows 98 I would use winpopup. I've tried net send but isn't there another way? Thank you for your time

Use the this at the dos prompt
net send computername message in plain text no quotes

for example;

net send dennis This is a message test

This should do it. For other net commands enter
net /?

Why the command prompt? You can send a console msg from the drop down menus in Admin Tools.
Computer Management/Action/All Tasks/Send Console Msg
