Messages stay in Outbox under Date: None

I create a message, click Send. Message goes to Outbox, not in italics, and
sits under a header called Date: None. Will not leave Outbox despite
repeated Send/Receive clicking. If i right-click on message, click on
Forward, new message automatically picks up intended recipients, and will go,
but it seems I then send duplicates of this message. Work Online box is
ticked. I usually work offline creating e-mails, then go online via modem and
Send/Receive in bulk. Last time a technician reloaded Outlook but there has
to be a simpler explanation / easier way. Nothing in Microsoft Help domain
relates to this problem.
