under drafts & sent e-mail.

Sounds like you have a rule that moves a copy to the Drafts folder.

Just for grins, start Outlook with the /cleanrules command line switch.
Also, see if the problem happens when starting Outlook with the /safe
command line switch. Finally, it wouldn't hurt to try a new mail profile.

I will give it a try, but the boss will have a fit with having to
re-configure everything. Any other suggestions other than new profile?
