messages location

***please help***

due to unknown problem, my newly installed motherboard
screwed up my windows XP boot. Where can I find messages
from outlook (I have the new hard disk) so I could copy
them and later import?

Also, does anyone know how to make a hard disk bootable
other than reformatting it in XP setup?
