Outlook has all of a sudden started sending some e-mail messages
automatically to my junk e-mail box. These e-mails are from specific
senders, and I want them in my inbox. I have no filters running that I know
of. I never designated them as junk e-mail. Is there someway I can reverse
this and prevent it in the future? I'm using Office 2002 and Windows XP.
Thank you.
You can set up a "rule" in Outlook (which under Tools => "Rule Wizard") by
filling in "X-Spam-Flag: Yes" (need to be filled in exactly). However, this
might not be perfect but it certainly helps a lot! Please follow the
instruction below:
1. Click on Tools, then on Rules Wizard.
2. Click on New...
3. Make sure that Check messages when they arrive is selected, then click
on Next >.
4. Put a checkmark besides with specific words in the message header.
5. Click on the specific words link.
6. Type X-Spam-Flag: YES in the box labeled Specify a word or phrase to
search for in the message header: .
7. Click on OK.
8. Put a checkmark besides delete it, then click on Next > twice.
9. Type Spam Filter in the Please specify a name for this rule: box.
10. Make sure that there is a checkmark beside Turn on this rule, then
click on Finish.
11. Select the Spam Filter rule, then click on the Move Up button until it
is the first rule in the list.
12. Click on OK. That's it! Your mailbox will now send messages flagged as
spam to the trash automatically.
