Messages from OL 2003 to OL Express

At work we use Outlook 2003. I am leaving my work shortly and would like to
take home some personal files. I use Outlook express at home.
Is it possible to import those Outlook 2003 files/messages into Outlook
express and how do we do it?
I have tried the import/export function and the import to a file selection
but I don't know if this is correct.
Is what I am trying to do possible?

At work, open OE and import mail from Outlook.
Close OE.
Copy ALL the mail store (including the file called folders.dbx) to your
desired media.
At home, copy the mail store to your HDD, do NOT paste it into the default
OE message store location.
Then open OE and do File-Import.
