messages are copied multiple times

When I apllied a particular rule, the mails which should be caught by the
rule are getting copied in multiple folders.
Eg: I have a rule which will move all the mails with "sales" in its subject
to a folder Inbox->sales. Now when a mail comes with the "sales" in subject,
gets available in both inbox and sales.
Pls suggest me a solution for this
