messages are automatically purge

I'm using Outlook 2003 SP1
My outlook is configured with IMAP folders.

When I delete a message the message is deleted for good.
Meaning it's not put on the Deleted Items. It's gone
completely.
I want to turn off this feature.
How do I do that?

Sounds like you have the "Hide Messages Marked for Deletion" view turned on
for that folder.

Outlook's IMAP component does not send messages to Deleted Items when you
delete them. Instead, it marks the for deletion in the original folder. You
perform permanent deletions with the Edit | Purge Deleted Messages command.

I wish it was that simple but no I don't have this filter
for the view.
Here is an example.
I delete a message and is marked as deleted. If I change
to another folder and go back to the one where my message
was marked for deletion, the message is gone. It's not
even on my IMAP folder on the server.
and I don't have anything in the Deleted Items.

I have no explanation for that behavior. It's not the way Outlook's IMAP
component works. I've never heard of a server that purges IMAP messages
automatically, but maybe that's what you have. You can turn on logging with
Tools | Options | Other | Advanced Options. The logs will appear in your
\Documents and Settings\%username%\Local Settings\Temp

Thanks a lot,I just tracked the problem.
This seem to be a side effect of my webmail.
I had at the same time a browser open on my webmail.
It looks like once the message was marked for deletion
and that my webmail was refreshed, my webmail would be
doing the cleanup automatically removing the messages on
the server.
