Hello,

How can i recover and import my messages and contacts from Windows XP using
Outlook Express (or Office Outlook 2007) to Windows Mail included with Vista
32bit ?

Using File > Import > Messages or Contacts is refused !

Don't find the files ..!

Can anyone help me to succeed please ?

Thanks in advance,
Jeanlou

Hi,

Have you exported them from the XP system already? You can't just grab the
messages from XP's dbx files, you have to export them
(file/export/messages), then import the file created to the Vista system.

Hi Rick,
Thanks for reply,

Of course, i used "Files > export > Messages/Contacts".

But when i ask to import from Windows Vista Mail, it does not find the
appropiated files from the folder where they are saved !
I have 4 options, and tried all of them to be sure !

And why changing the "extention" of the files ?

Where is the folder where i can find the messages and contacts located into
Vista Ultimate 32bit ?

Thanks to let me know,
Ragards,
Jean

Hi Jean,

Where you find them depends on where you saved them initially, only you can
tell us that. Windows Mail does not use the same file format as Outlook
Express did, thus the need to export them first from the XP system.
