MessageApp

Can anybody tell me what the button on the task bar pop
that says MessageApp is doing there?? Nothing happens
when you click on it and you can't get it to go away.
Doesn't seem to be a problem with operation of computer.
This operating system is Windows XP Home edition.

[[MessageApp is part of Dell's non-spyware spyware that checks your system
periodically, then phones the Dell center with details about your computer
so it can advise you of any software updates.

Supposedly, you can disable the thing by going to Add/Remove programs and
removing the Dell support stuff, including MessageApp.

Alternatively you could also run MSCONFIG and then remove it from startup.]]
