Message when I start word or excel

I have a HP XP media center computer that's about 18 months old. I recently
had to do a system restore which installed all the software originally on the
computer. One of which was office 2003. This was nothing more than a trial
version. I removed it. I installed my office 2000 SR-1 premium. Now, when I
open word or excel, I get a box telling me to "please wait while windows
configures microsoft office 2000 SR-1 premimum." About 3 seconds later it
closes and word opens. What's causing this? is there a link I can go to that
will help me? Thanks Jim Birke

Thanks. I'll work with that tomorrow and let you know what happens. D'you
Think it'll fix the same problem I'm having with Excel?

Bad news. I carefully followed all three steps in that article and still have
the same problem. When I closed Access at the end of the third step. I got
the following: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/241230. Since I dont use
Access, I removed it from my office installation using the CD, but that
didn't help. Curious point, Before I had to do the system restore and install
my third party software, I had installed this version of office and had no
problems. Hopefuly, there's a next step. Thanks again.
