Message Limite in Outlook 2003

Hi there,

With info from this group I've determined there is a message limit
(importing from Outlook Express) on Outlook XP, but is it the same for
Outlook 2003? Is it worth upgrading to the new version?

Outlook 2003 with Unicode pst's (the default) can handle an unlimited number
of messages per folder.

Don't attempt to use the pst created by outlook 2002 - let ol2003 create a
new one or use File, New, Outlook data file to create a new one.

Hi,
What if we use old PST file(OutLook 2000,2002, 1.8 GB) as an non active PST means just add new Personnal Folder in OUTLOOK 2003 of OLD Pst....and use the new Pst created by Oultook 2003 for recieving /sending mails.....will it work?....will it provide me the peace of not to care about the PST size....waiting for your reply...

If I were you I'd try to whittle down the size of that old .PST file if you
want to make sure the data will be accessible in the future. Since it is
the old non-Unicode format, it's still subject to the 2GB limit (practical
limit more like 1.83GB), even if you open it in Outlook 2003. Try moving
some of the items into another .PST file and then compacting the original.
Once they're of a reasonable size, you can always keep them around for
future reference.
