Message hung in outbox, send/receive goes into a repetitive loop

Using Outlook 2007 (pop3 account)
I have tried to send an email with Word doc attached and it just sits in the
outbox. When I press send/receive, it repeats the send/receive endlessly.
Detailed progess window shows tasks successfuly completed over and over but
email still there. Any ideas? I saw hotfix issued in July but it didn't
exactly describe the problem I'm having.

First, increase your send/.receive interval. Also increase your server
timeout interval. FInally, uninstall your antivirus program and reinstall
it without the mail scanning feature.
