Message folders

When I click "New" and send a message to a friend, the message goes to the
"Sent Items" folder.
Then I have to open the "Sent Items" folder and move the message to the
friend's folder.

Is there no way to make it go directly to the friend's folder?
(an addin or a macro perhaps?)

This is by design. When you send an email, it goes to the Outbox and when
sent, to Sent Items. You can change this on a per-email basis so that it goes
to the Outbox, sends, and then goes to another folder by clicking on the
Options button in the email (before sending) and changing "Save sent messages
to".
