I don't really know what it is I am after, but I know what I'd like it
to do. Is there a script that will allow me to have something like a
message board or yahoo groups on my own web page, solely for use by
family members in different countries?

It could be one long page, no need for topics or threads. Does this make
sense? Any ideas? I googled and found web forum scripts but they seem
overkill.

You could set up a blog and give your people permissions. But
doing that on your own site can be a lot of work also.

I'm using tinyphpforum... (google for it) it's powerful and still
looks simple...
