And a Merry Christmas to you too Owen (How old do you have to be to be
called old fart?) from downunder.

We are totally OT here so will get into trouble but just a note of
interest for those of you in the northern hemisphere. It's forecast to
get to 34°C (93F) here on Xmas day, SE Qld, Australia.

Stay safe everyone.
Cheers

Ditto from me. As a relative newbie on this NG, I'd like to add that
it's pointed me to some excellant freeware in 2005! A Happy 2006.

Only 34°C?
....you'll have to turn up the heating or trip to Thailand ;-)

I feel sorry for you that have to live with that 34°C (93°F) at Christmas --
the ice-fishing must be awful!

It's a White Christmas here in Northern Minnesota, the ice fishing is great,
and Santa gets here first :)

By the way, we have the Northern Lights here (Aurora Borealis), do you have
Southern Lights? I expect that you do.

Merry Christmas all.

Ahh, I'm at Murgon, not so humid although the forecast is rising and
I've now heard 36. I know there are hotter places but I just like to
remind those who will spend Christmas freezing their butts off that
there are nice warm places to be.

Nah...Tassie's too cold.

Haha, no not a lot of ice fishing but the swimming is quite a pleasure.
I hate to tell you that Santa gets here about 15 hours before you :)

I really dont' know about the southern lights but I'd be too far north
for them anyway. I've seen photos of the Northern Lights and would love
to see them for real.

Who wants to have to hack a hole just to drop in a line? Having to
wear sunscreen, hat and clothes is bad enough without needing to put
on a double layer of furs to keep the heat in and the cold out.

Merry Christmas all.
We do have the Southern Lights (Aurora Australis) but most of
Australia is to far north to see them. I can remember them from when I
was a child living in southern Victoria. I have not seen them for
years however, Tasmania is the best place to see them.

As a Katrina and Rita survivor I sincerely hope 2006 is better than
2005. It can't be a lot worse.
