Merging Database Templates

What is the easiest method to merge or combine the Microsoft Access templates
titled 'business account ledger' and 'time and billing' ? Steve, in the macro
thread, told me how to do an append query to update the general ledger when
charge account payments are made; however, it sounds like it would be best if
all the tables where in one database. Thanks, Fred.

Steve,
I understand how to import the tables or create linked tables. What I would
prefer to do is to develop relationships between certain fields of the tables
that come in the Microsoft downloadable templates 'business account ledger'
and 'time and billing' so I end up with one common database that would
require only entering similar data once. In other words, when I enter a
payment in the time & billing DB, I would like it to write the payment info
into the business account ledger DB. Should I just design a database from
scratch or try to merge the two template databases?
Thanks,
Fred.

Fred,

Well, your questions has two or both answers depending on which one you
prefer. You COULD merge the two and then go about changing relationships
and fields and menus, etc... OR you could start from scratch. Personally, I
would start from scratch bringing into my new database all the elements from
both databases that I want, building my relationships along the way. I
would then create my forms from scratch because the existing ones wouldn't
have all the changes I made in the tables.

OR if you have the time, start from scratch and use the FREE volunteers here
for the trobule spots that might come up. Whatever you decide, we are here
to help and for FREE.
