merge old archive (pst) files

An individual in my office has been archiving his mail on a monthly basis.
Now he has found this too difficult to search and wants to merge these files
- maybe 3 to 6 months of mail per file. Is there a simple way to accomplish
this?

Connect to the archive (if not already) by File-> Open-> Outlook data
File...
Then simply use drag & drop to move the items.
