menu bar hyperlinks, security alerts?

I got a new computer and went from Outlook 2002 to 2007. In 2002 I had menus
with hyperlinks that allowed me to open other things such as excel documents,
folders, and an email template/form in 2002. Point and click on the menus,
and the documents or folders opened right up (i.e., Excel opens its file,
windows opens a window with the folder's contents, etc.).

With 2007, when I click on the menu to open a folder or document, I am
presented with a security alert:

------
Microsoft has identified a potential security concern.

This location may be unsafe.

c:\ ...\ (the folder I want it to open or file)

Hyperlinks can be harmful to your computer and data. To protect your
computer, click only those hyperlinks from trusted sources.

Do you want to continue?
------

Is there a way to get rid of this prompt for a specific folder, file, or
just turn it off altogether? Trust Center settings for trusted folders seems
to apply to Office applications other than Outlook. I have tried putting my
file into the trusted folders for Office 2007 and still the alert.

I too would like to know a way to get around this - only for me it's a
custom protocol that I've registered.

Thanks,
