Hi there,

I was wondering how can I check what type of memory I should buy for my pc
as it's very slow and only has 1 used slot with a 512mb. I think of buying a
1gb for the other, as i work with graphics. but i'm not totally bright on
technical stuff, though I get along just fine for what's needed.

Is there an easy way to know this? e.g. how many pins? I know it's a DDR,
supported frequencies 166 & 200mhz. and can support max. 1gb mem stick. the
only problem is that all the 1gb memories I see are for 400mhz. would it be
fine to buy a 400mhz anyway and just not use its full power?

Appreciate the advice! You guys rock here. :)

Go to http://www.crucial.com/ and use their "Memory Advisor Tool." It will
tell you how much of what type of memory your computer can use.

You don't have to buy from crucial but it's not a bad way to go. They
guarantee computability and provide a lifetime warranty.

computability was supposed to read compatability. (works out the same in
this case :-)
