MB: GIGABYTE 7VT600 1394
(VIA KT600 chipset)
CPU: Athlon XP 2600+ Barthon
RAM: 512Mb DDR333 (KingMax), one module
Most of the time BIOS (and OS) report only 256Mb of RAM. Couple of days ago
I took RAM out to try it on another PC and it worked OK. When I put it back
in my PC it also reported full memory (512Mb), it worked like that for two
days, and today it shows only half mem again! I tried moving DDR module,
taking it out and trying it in other slots...
What could be wrong? Anyone with experiance with problems like this?
Thanks!

if the ram is OK & does only in your machine this kind of joke time to
time, there could be the problem with mem slot (contacts) or bad
capacitors close to mem slots (check if bulged & leaking!)
