memory parity error

win2000pro ...blue screen w/memory parity error...system
on restart keyboard and mouse won't work . i'm
new ...little experience so PLEASE ...not TOO technical .
is there a way just to get the system up and running ? i
left it alone for a day and turned the computer back on it
did start up....stopped responding after about 1/2 hr.
rebooted on it's own and memory parity message came
up..continues to come up

Enter your BIOS (usually by pressing the DEL key VERY quickly when
prompted very early during boot - timing is critical). Find the setting
for memory parity and disable it. Save the BIOS settings and exit. When
the machine reboots, see if that problem has gone away.

The PC manual will tell you how to enter BIOS if the DEL key doesn't do
it. Some vendors use other keys. Don't ask...
