Lately when I've tried installing new updates or any
Microsoft .exe install package after I agree to terms and
conditions I get this error "Extracting file failed. It
is most likely caused by low memory (low disk space for
swapping file) or corrupted Cabinet file." At the moment
I have over 13GB of free space and am not running
anything that would be taking up my memory. This does
this for every install package of this type.

Hi,

It seems that your windows update component is corrupt. you will have to reinstall the windows update component.
