Memory of Search Feature

Is there any way to remove the "memory" of previous searches that you've
done in XP? I'm talking about the Start->Search feature. For instance, in
the past I've done searches for "internet." Now, when I type an "i" in the
search box the whole word "internet" show up in a pull down menu. Is there
any way to erase that memory from the search feature?
Something similar would be the AutoComplete feature in the Internet
Explorer. You can clear forms so that previous information entered isn't
remembered by the Explorer.

For IE6 or lower:
Warning: This will remove ALL form history:
Tools | Internet Options | Content | AutoComplete
Click the button to clear forms.

Note: You can delete an individual item in the drop-down list by
highlighting it and pressing the Delete key.

When you type a letter and the drop down list appears, move the cursor over
the item you want to delete and it will highlight the item, do not press
the mouse button, press the DELETE key to remove the item.

Have you ever seen that kind of behavior in the IE? Even after I've cleared
the History (under Tools=>Internet Options->Clear History) I still get names
of certain websites that popup in a pull down from the address bar. The
Delete key doesn't get rid of them.

Yes, some sites force themselves into there.

Delete History
Delete the damaged History folder- a new one will be created on restart.
